This manual outlines the required procedures for requesting access to the records of: Sequence Industries (Pty) Ltd trading as snapcash – Reg no: 2024/627275/07.

1. Introduction

snapcash is a private company registered in accordance with the company laws of the Republic of South Africa with registered credit provider with NCR registration number: NCRCP21330. The Promotion of Access to Information Act No. 2 of 2000 (“the Act”) came into operation on 23 November 2001. Section 51 of this Act requires us, as a private body, to compile a manual informing the public on how to request information for the purpose of exercising or protecting rights. snapcash has compiled this manual to comply with the Act, foster a culture of transparency, and ensure that the public has effective access to information in our possession.

2. Categories of Records Held

2.1 Company Records

Incorporation documents and Financial statements.

Minutes of general meetings.

Employment Equity Plans and Reports.

Statutory records required by the Companies Act.

2.2 Employee Records

Employment contracts and Performance appraisals.

Disciplinary and leave records.

Policy and Procedures Manuals.

Product applications, account, and transactional records.

Insurance quotes and policies.

2.3 Records kept in terms of Applicable Legislation

snapcash maintains records in accordance with various South African laws, including but not limited to:

National Credit Act, 34 of 2005.

Companies Act, 61 of 1973. * Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008.

Basic Conditions of Employment Act, 97 of 1997. * Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 38 of 2002.

Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 25 of 2002.

3. VOLUNTARY DISCLOSURE (SECTION 52)

No notice in terms of Section 52(2) regarding the automatic availability of certain records has been published at this time.

4. Procedures to Request Access

To request access to records, the following steps must be taken:

1. Use Form C: The prescribed FORM C must be used. It can be downloaded from the Department of Justice website.

2. Submit to the Information Officer:

3. Provide Identification:

You must provide sufficient detail on the form to allow the Information Officer to identify the record and your identity.

Positive proof of ID is required.

4. Identify the Right:

You must clearly state the right you seek to protect or exercise and explain why the requested record is necessary for that purpose.

5. Authority

If requesting on behalf of someone else, you must provide a legally binding Power of Attorney.

5. Prescribed Fees

Request Fee: A fee of R50.00 must be paid before a request is processed.

Exemptions:

You are exempt from the request fee if:

You are requesting your own personal information.

You earn below R14,712 per year (or a combined household income below R27,192 per year).

Access Fees:

If the request is granted, additional fees may apply for the search, reproduction, and preparation of the record.

7. The South African Human Rights Commission Guide
